- Chairman of Governors from November 2005 to November 2011 and Governor since 1988.
- Student at RAC 1970-1973 (Rural Estate Management) winning the Harker Medal.
- Chairman Students Union Club 1972 and RAC Association.
- He is a Land Agent and Auctioneer and was President of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 1995, of the Rural Practice Division in 1988. He is also Chairman of the Almshouse Association, The Day Foundation and President of The Old Michaelian Association.
