Mr Christopher Brough

Appointed as Academic Staff Representative on the Governing Council, from 7th February 2008.

Chris has a strong background in practical livestock farming, undertaking an NCA at Askham Bryan College and a ANCA in Dairy Herd Management at Broomfield College Derbyshire, and a wide and varied experience of working within primary agriculture.  Following completion of this he is now a Senior Lecturer in Animal Production.  This entails programme and module management within the livestock production courses, and he also has the responsibility for the agricultural industrial placements and acting as the link tutor manager for the joint Foundation Degree & BSc Animal Science and Management programmes with Wiltshire College Lackham.

He is also actively involved in many consultancy projects in the livestock and meat industry, including the management and design and implementation of commercial technology transfer projects, training courses, information extension programmes, for commercial clients in the UK and overseas.

His main area of expertise and research is based around the ability to, and impact of, increasing performance efficiencies within the variable factors of production among differing production systems, and the additional biological and physiological requirements to achieve this.

He currently sits on the Health & Safety Committee and Nominations Committee.
