Our RICS APC courses are designed to be small (with a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 18 delegates) interactive workshop sessions which will help to update and develop your professional skills and knowledge. Participation is strongly encouraged. Each course is open to all, but most are specifically aimed at those working through their APC.

Presentations and Mock Interviews
Date: Tuesday 20th March, Tuesday 4th September
Full-Day Course Fee: £125
Course Tutor: David Lewis MPhil, MRICS, FAAV, MICFor, an APC Assessor.
A morning on presentation of critical analysis, with practice sessions and personal feedback. In the afternoon an observed mock APC interview with advice on interview techniques and preparation.
Critical Analysis Preparation
Date: Monday 18th June
Half-Day Course Fee: £75

This half-day course is aimed at APC candidates who are required to prepare a critical analysis as part of their final assessment. The structure, writing style and what assessors are looking for, both in the written submission and subsequent oral presentation are all included.
Inspection, Measurement and Valuation

Date: Tuesday 10th July
Full-Day Course Fee: £125
Course Tutor: David Cox PGCHE, FHEA, MRICS and Sam Parkes BSc, Dip DEA, MRAC, MRICS.
This full-day course will cover property inspection procedure together with principles, methods and application of measurement and valuation, including a practical exercise. The RICS code of practice and the 'Red Book' are also included.
Forestry and Woodland Management

A full day workshop on the management of rural estate woodlands including new planting and restocking, grants, and practical exercises involving the thinning, harvesting and marketing of timber.
Planning and Development and Update

This full day provides a review of rural and urban planning and development issues, relevant to all APC routes, examining practical development issues in the context of a rapidly changing planning system.

A course on commercial Landlord & Tenant law and practice for APC candidates. A full day course on commercial landlord and tenant law and practice for APC candidates. This course is intended for graduates working in practice who wish to improve their knowledge in the increasingly important area of commercial landlord and tenant law and its application to property management. Updates in key areas of Landlord and Tenant Law are also provided.
Applied Valuation

A full day course on the application of traditional and contempory methods for both rural and urban assets. Investment and development appraisal. The course includes practical desk-based exercises and is aimed at candidates taking valuation to level 3.
