Chainsaw LANTRA Maintenance and Operation (Cross Cutting) (LANTRA Integrated Test & Assessment)
A 2 day chainsaw maintenance and operation course for the operator with some or no experience who is required to operate chainsaws for cross cutting only. Content includes: routine maintenance, protective clothing, operation technique, cross cutting and manual stacking. The course includes assessment for the Lantra Chainsaw Certificate. NPTC certification can be arranged at an extra cost (Units CS30.1 and CS30.2).

Chainsaw LANTRA Basic Felling (up to 200mm) (LANTRA Integrated Test & Assessment)
A two day training course for those who have already attended maintenance and cross cutting course who wish to fell trees up to 200mm in diameter, but who do not want to proceed to the full NPTC CS31.

Chainsaw CS30.1/CS30.2 – Maintenance, Operation & Cross Cutting (LANTRA course with NPTC assessment)
Chainsaws are highly dangerous if not correctly maintained. In this course you will be shown how to start, check and care for your saw. This includes the maintenance of the guide bar; drive system, chain identification and sharpening.
NPTC certification (Unit 30) is available after the course to those operators requiring a certification of competence.

Chainsaw CS31 Felling of small trees (LANTRA course with NPTC assessment)
A chainsaw maintenance and operation course for the experienced operator. Content includes routine maintenance, operation technique and felling of trees of a diameter between 200mm (8”) and 380mm (15”). Other subjects include: dealing with hung-up trees, branch removal, snedding, cross cutting and manual stacking.

Chainsaw CS30/CS31 – Maintenance and Felling of Small Trees (LANTRA course with NPTC assessment)
A 5 day chainsaw maintenance and operation course for the operator with some experience. Content includes routine maintenance, operation technique and felling of small tress of a diameter between 200mm (8”) and 380mm (15”). Other subjects include: Dealing with hung-up trees, branch removal, snedding, cross cutting and manual stacking. NPTC certification is available for those operators with sufficient previous experience (Units 30 & 31).

Chainsaw CS32 – Felling Medium Sized Trees (LANTRA course with NPTC assessment)
Felling of larger trees further increases the hazards of tree felling. This course is for the competence operator who requires training for the use of chainsaws on trees of a diameter between 380mm and 760mm. You will assess types of tree and the hazards involved with the felling operation and deal with hung-up trees using a winch.
Assessment is available for very experienced operators during the course if trainees are of the appropriate standard with certification in NPTC unit 32.

Chainsaw CS38 – Tree Climbing and Aerial Rescue (LANTRA course with NPTC assessment)
A 5 day course for the operator who requires training and certification in arboricultural climbing and rescue techniques (CS38). This detailed course gives you experience in the use of all equipment and the techniques required to be assessed for NPTC Certificate of Competence "Climb Trees and Perform Aerial rescue".

Chainsaw CS39 – Use of a chainsaw from a rope and harness
A 2 day course for the operator who requires certification in the arboricultural use of a chainsaw (CS39). This detailed course gives you experience in the use of all equipment and the techniques required to perform tree surgery. Price includes kit hire.

Brush Cutter & Strimmer Operation (LANTRA Integrated Test & Assessment)
Brush cutters are a popular tool for the clearing of vegetation and scrub. This course covers routine maintenance, pre-start checks, site considerations and machine operation. The correct selection and use of cutting attachments is vital to the safe and efficient operation of the machine.

Wood Chippers (LANTRA Integrated Test & Assessment)
Under the provision of use of work equipment regulations (PUWER) operators of these machines should receive adequate training. It is important for operators to understand and utilise the machine to ensure safe operation.
