The fourth Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change report shows a general consensus over the reality of climate change and the role of humans in causing such change.  Global circulation models give reasonably clear predictions of changes in climate. This pathway examines causes, GHG emissions from rural activities, mitigation options and adaptation strategies for land and community development.

On this pathway, you will study the following focus module plus any two others (in addition to the five core modules) and carry out a research investigation within this theme:

Climate Change and Development

This is explored in relation to the factors contributing to climate and environmental change and predictive models. The module then evaluates the threats and opportunities for land and community development as well as options for mitigation.
