In today's dynamic and highly competitive business environment, management skills are at a premium. This course aims to equip graduates for careers in the demanding and exciting world of the equine and related industries. An important objective of this course is to develop a broad awareness of business thinking, encouraging you to be highly adaptable, open-minded and creative in your approach to equine business management. As the course explores the application of business management expertise throughout the equine industry, it creates a wide variety of career options.
Who is the Course for?
This course will meet the needs of recent graduates who have at least two years’ post-graduation experience; those working in any area of management who wish to further their managerial career prospects and those seeking a career change. It is designed to accommodate students from a wide variety of backgrounds and diverse disciplines who want to enhance their career prospects in areas such as the management of equine businesses, equine service industries, and consultancy.
The course is well suited to overseas as well as UK students. A wide range of nationalities brings a breadth of experience to this highly distinctive course.
Most students study for the MBA full-time, completing it in 15 months. It is possible to study the course part-time over two, three or four years. You are able to choose the pattern, in consultation with the Programme Manager, which suits you best.
How is the Course organised?
The taught part of the course is made up of eight modules: five core modules, delivered jointly with the other MBA courses, and three focus modules. If you can provide academic evidence of having studied the contents of a particular subject, i.e. a degree in that subject, you may, with guidance from the Programme Manager and subject to timetable availability, substitute up to two modules either with other postgraduate modules or third year undergraduate modules. The dissertation will be undertaken principally from Easter through to January and is normally submitted by 10th January.
