The Rural Skills Centre is a training centre which not only supports students at the university, but offers professional courses to businesses and outreach programmes. It is about five minutes’ drive from the university, so it is really accessible for students. The centre has been running for about 15 years. It was first set up to support students in developing their skills and preparing them for work placements and work beyond their university years. Over time it has developed so that now not only does it cater for our students but also for many local and regional businesses as well as supporting the Colleges’ outreach programmes. It is a fun and lively centre, focussing on practical skills and activities.

The School of Agriculture is the oldest School at the RAC. Its friendly and professional staff are committed to providing opportunities for young people to engage in learning through visits, activities and taster days which run throughout the year. The School offers many opportunities for young people to be enthused and inspired, and to experience and explore courses and careers in the fields of agriculture, equine and food supply management.

The School of Business attracts students from all over the world. Staff are enthusiastic and dedicated to providing opportunities for young learners to explore the business world. The School presents activity taster days and information sessions so that you can learn about your interests, be inspired and plan your education and career routes. School and college students are welcome on our activity days, which enhance prior learning and create a new dimension to studying business, management and finance!

RELM is the biggest School at the RAC, delivering learning in rural and urban property, management and development. RELM staff are keen to develop activities to support, enthuse and inspire young people who want to explore the property world. The School of RELM provides opportunities to discover courses and careers through real experience of university life and learning, so get involved!
