International Vision

In addition to our International Partners, we have also forged strong connections with universities and organisations around the world.  Some of these include;

Our cooperation has helped increase the number of students undertaking sandwich placements and periods of study overseas.  Many of our students have visited the Czech Republic, Italy, Germany, Denmark, Portugal, Hungary and the USA as options as part of their course programme.

In the Far East, programmes have been developed with ministries of agriculture, private companies and universities. These have led to further links with the Association of the South East Asian Nations region and established a sound base for academic collaboration and student exchanges and recruitment. In particular, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore and Vietnam feature in cooperation programmes.

Our International Partners

Shandong Agricultural University

ShandongAgriculturalUniversity.jpgShandong Agricultural University (SDAU) is located in east China and teaches 30,000 students.  The SDAU is a multi-disciplinary university which teaches agriculture, science, engineering, management, economics, humanities, law, medicine and education.

Our work with the SDAU is focused on the delivery of the BSc (Hons) Food Business and Food Safety, a jointly taught degree course that was first launched in 2003.  The course is taught in English and Mandarin and delivered in Tai'an in China by academic staff in the School of Business.

Recently the SDAU received an award from central Government, for having one of the most successful and innovative international co-operation programmes with a foreign university partner - namely the Royal Agricultural College.  The BSc (Hons) Food Business and Food Safety was considered by the Education Council of the Ministry of Education, to be in the 'Top 10' of international programmes in China in 2008 - 2009.  There are currently over 800 applications received for this course each year.  Development is also currently underway to deliver another joint programme, Land Resource Business and Environment Management.
