These scholarships are awarded to students with outstanding ability in a particular sport to assist their development, and to raise the profile of the College through their sporting endeavours. The specific aims of the sports scholarships are:
- Recruit talented students to study at the Royal Agricultural College
- Assist those students to achieve their full sporting potential alongside their studies
- By their efforts the sports scholars will help raise the profile of the College in the sporting and academic arenas
- As far as is reasonable represent the College in their sport
Scholarships are available (on adjudication) to sportsmen and women who compete (at least) at county level or equivalent (this standard will vary from sport to sport). Scholars should be committed to representing the College and working with the College to achieve the aims of the sports scholarship scheme.
Each scholarship will be available for the duration of the student’s studies whilst at the College, each scholarship is reviewed annually. Influencing factors for renewal of the scholarship each year are the satisfactory completion of an Annual Review. The College will advise what this consists of and whether in its opinion the student has fulfilled their part of the scholarship.
The College will, as far as is reasonable, help the successful Scholars to actively promote the College in the context of their scholarship.

Please note Scholarship applications cannot be considered without a satisfactory reference. Additional information may be requested at a later date.
How will I know if my Application has been Successful?
An interview of short-listed candidates by the Scholarships Committee will be arranged prior to the start of the first term. For overseas applicants, a telephone or video conferencing facility may be arranged.
Can I Apply again for the Following Year?
