Am I Eligible for an Award?

The trustees of the Geoffrey Cragghill Scholarship Trust have decided to offer a scholarship to a Masters student undertaking a dissertation.

The dissertation topic would ideally be related to country sports, but topics relating to agriculture/land management will also be considered. The calibre of the student, their proposal and their motivation and in turn the likelihood of them being able to do a first class job is just as important as the topic.

In return, you will be expected to provide a research/summary paper (in addition to your 20,000 word dissertation) and present this at the Cirencester Conference at the College (to an expected audience of over 100) this coming December.

Value of Award

The scholarship would be worth up to £2,000 with a further £500 for expenses. In addition there would also be provided with a mentor (who is likely to be Mr Michael Tucker, an old student with a keen interest in field sports) as well as a College supervisor.

How do I Apply?

Applications should be sent to the College by 31st July using the online application form, together with supporting evidence. Please download and ask your referee to complete the Scholarship Reference Form; the referee should be your most recent school/university tutor or employer. We do not accept references from family members. Please note Scholarship applications cannot be considered without a satisfactory reference. Additional information may be requested at a later date.

How will I know if my Application has been Successful?

All applicants will be informed in writing of the outcome, whether successful or unsuccessful once a decision has been made.

Can I Apply again for the Following Year?

The award is for the duration of the course.
