The HR Team are committed to providing a range of support and development opportunities to meet the needs of the College. We aim to deliver training that meets the ever changing demands of business, through offering Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
Staff development refers to the development of the individual's potential and career in terms of knowledge, skills, personal abilities, competencies and understanding to support the College's priorities set out in the Corporate Plan. It embraces a wide range of learning experiences, both within and outside the workplace, and is a continuing process that can help individuals to:
- Extend their range of performance.
- Identify and develop their potential.
- Respond positively to change, uncertainty and conflict.
- Increase their job satisfaction.
- Improve their self-confidence, motivation and initiative.
The following staff training and development opportunities are available for all members of staff. This programme has been designed to reflect the outcomes of appraisal returns received within HR, comments received through a range of forums and feedback from existing events.
It is important to emphasise that all staff are eligible to be considered for staff development support, whatever their terms and length of appointment, in accordance with identified needs and priorities and in as cost-effective and varied ways as possible.
