John Phillips
We are sad to report that former student and local farmer John Phillips died at home following his long battle with a brain tumour. John left the RAC in 1974 and returned to the family farm business, where he was well known for his prize winning pedigree Suffolk sheep and Charolais cattle.
Sir John Agnew
Former student and well known landowner Sir John Agnew Baronet, who owned and ran Rougham Estate in Suffolk died recently following a battle with cancer. Sir John became well known for the shows that took place regularly at Rougham, including the air display and classic car show.
Philip Scarff
Former RAC student Philip Scarff was tragically killed whilst cycling home along the London Road at Copdock near Ipswich on Friday 27 August. Philip was married to Jenny (nee Henderson) and father of two young daughters Sophie (5 years) and Georgia (2 years). Philip attended the RAC from 1992 to 1995 and graduated with a 2.1 degree in Rural Estate Management. John Kenneth 'Ken' Royston died 14th June 2010

David Mapus-Smith (8TH August 1968 - 10TH July 2009)
David Mapus-Smith was born in Norfolk and after studying Land Management at the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester he became a Rural Practice Surveyor at Smith Woolley in Cambridge. He remained an active member of the RICS having been President of the Cambridge and Ely branch and was Chief Examiner for the Eastern Group in 1999 and continued to be actively involved until his untimely death.
Lady Gwyneth Jones
We are sad to report the death of Lady Gwyneth Jones beloved wife of the late Sir Emrys Jones (former Principal of RAC). Lady Jones died peacefully on 30 May 2010 at Ty Coch Nursing Home in Cardiff and her funeral is being held on 14 June at Thornhill Crematorium at 1.30pm.
